So there I was...coronet in hand, a third book on my stand, sitting in with Roman Festival Brass. There is something rather special about a high quality British brass ensemble, bring chills to the skin. One of my favorite sounds that Roman Festival Brass crafts is their New Orleans style. Their genuine love of the sound truly rings through at every performance. It is incredible to be a part of it. I struggled with the range a little, getting air through a coronet is serious business. And OF COURSE, a professor from my school that happens to be a Brit-Brass superstar was sitting directly in front of me listening to every single mistake I made (it figures). I fully intend to practice up so that I am able to contribute to that sound quality, I certainly have no intentions of diluting it! But of course,
